Introduction A city in Beadle County, the tribe was named after an Indian tribe. The city is on the James River, in east central South Dakota. Huron is home to a statue known as "The World's Largest Pheasant".
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 21.6 km² (8.3 mi²) of which 21.3 km² (8.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (1.56%) is water.
